A total of 134 groups of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have been issued Uwezo Fund cheques worth over 14 Million Kenya Shillings in Tharaka Nithi County.
Uwezo Fund Oversight Board Chairperson, Prof. Losenge Turoop while presenting a dummy cheque to the group’s representatives at Magumoni Ward today commended the stakeholders for championing women economic empowerment at the grassroots level.

He noted that Tharaka Nithi County is among the top-performing regions where more than 11,000 groups have benefited from the Uwezo Fund with a repayment rate of 61%.

Since its inception, the Fund has disbursed over KES 6.95 billion to more than 75,000 groups of Women, Youth and PWDs across the 290 Constituencies.
