Role and Responsibilities
- The purpose of the Project Assistant – Livelihoods and Food Security position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the Food Security project.

- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
- Ensure that procurement, development, and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and in accordance with the procedures
- Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
- Investigate and facilitate the introduction of new technology, method, and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities
Specific Responsibilities:
- These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus, and type of program intervention.
- This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
- Together with LFS Officers, the Assistants will be responsible for the implementation of food security activities on the field – food vouchers, income-generating activities, and backyard vegetable gardens.
- Carry out the selection of project beneficiaries
- Data collection for project monitoring and evaluation.
- Coordinate the food security activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans
- Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
- Coordinate with relevant partners
- Facilitate the distribution of materials and equipment according to procedures
- Prepare weekly progress reports and other documents as required.
Qualifications
- BSc Degree in Agriculture / Crop Science / Agriculture Economics
- At least one year of experience working in an NGO set-up.
