JOB TITLE: Managing Director
JOB LOCATION: Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
- Report to the Board of Directors and provide innovative leadership in operations, general management experience for courier, freight forwarding, delivery or B2B business services, e-commerce and haulage,
- Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions
- Must have strategic plans to manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
- Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments
- Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers
- Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
- Implement health and safety procedures.
General Qualification, Experience, Attributes and Skills Required
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Administration or Fleet Management with membership of recognized professional bodies within or outside Nigeria. MBA / MSc is an added advantage
- Proven working experience as a logistics/courier manager with 10 years post qualification experience, and at least 5 years in leadership position.
- Working knowledge of cargo clearing and forwarding, haulage and warehousing
- Analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to network and work in multi-cultural teams and groups.
