Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

- The Programme Operations Coordinator (POC) will support the Emergency Response teams to ensure effective reporting, both internally and to donors, as well as supporting proposal development for response interventions.
- This will include ensuring that monitoring meetings are held at least monthly to review both programmes spend and indicator and activity implementation. The coordinator will work closely with the Deputy Team Leader, Thematic Programme Managers, and Awards Manager to ensure that the programmes are implementing and reporting in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- University degree in related academic discipline or equivalent work experience
- Three years’ experience working with a nongovernmental organization in a humanitarian setting
- Ability to write a clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
- Excellent time management skills, and ability to organise multiple priorities
- Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
- Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands on implementation capacity
- Experience in preparing successful funding proposals for donors
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Computer literate
- The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
- Commitment to and understanding of SCI’s aims, values and principles.
Desirable:
- Emergency response exposure is an added advantage
